I wonder how many teenage girls and young women have ANY idea what the world used to be like for women. Although this particular atrocity is before my time - the white-gloved June Cleaver was the paragon of womanly virtue of my teenage years. Even then, she made me gag. I thought there was something wrong with me until I read Betty Friedan:-)
